Beech and Cord Sofa/Daybed by Georges Tigien, France 1960's


Rare daybed by Georges Tigien, France, 1960s. Pradera Meubles made the beech structure, while the braided cord armature was from Prénas, an innovative French manufacturer of synthetic materials. The single daybed can expand into a larger two-person unit. It features the original cushioning set for which the faux fur inside lining has been freshly re-upholstered. The two smaller cushions can be used as pillows, arms, or backrests when the bed is folded. Length, when unfolded, is 55.1" and height 13.8".
